Hello Everyone,

It is the beginning of a new week. We hope you are all feeling fresh after the weekend and ready for a new week of learning. A new time table has been put on as well as some updated activities to keep you busy. Keep going on Timestable Rockstars as well and improving your score.

Remember children you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think.

We miss all your faces so much and cannot wait to see you all again. But for now stay home and stay safe.

WC 4th May 2020

Hello to all of our lovely Year One children and their wonderful families.

This week is the beginning of a brand new month and on Friday it will be the first Bank Holiday of the year.  It will be a very special bank holiday and one with a difference (in more ways than one), as we celebrate 75 years since Victory in Europe during World War Two. Have a look at some of the activities that we have put under the home learning section to help the children understand this special anniversary.

It is also another week closer to the end of lock down and the re opening of our wonderful school.  This week is hopefully going to bring some warm weather and plenty of sunshine to help brighten our mood. Keep enjoying those walks, say hi to your neighbours, and appreciate this time spent together.

Please have a look at some of the activity ideas to help keep the children occupied and challenge their little minds.

We look forward to seeing you all soon. Stay safe.

Miss Hennessey, Mrs Quantick, Mrs Edgar and Miss Jones

Hello Everybody and welcome to another week.

We have our fingers crossed that everybody is safe and well.  It looks like we might have an end date and we may be seeing you all very soon.  We hope that you had a fantastic week in the sunshine last week and enjoyed some VE celebrations.  There is still a list of ideas on our Year One page if you would like to have some late celebrations.

Now that we are allowed outside a bit more we hope that lots of you will be spending time outdoors with nature.  Please look at all of the beautiful plants and many insects that we see in summer time (This would have been our current Science topic).

Stay Safe from Miss Hennessey, Mrs Quantick, Mrs Edgar and Mrs Jones.

Hello,

We hope you are all well and safe.  It has been lovely to see lots of you this week.  Don't

forget to visit school each Wednesday for food and a chocolate treat! It would be lovely to see more of our Year One children.

Whilst we are off school, please also remember to play!  Make up stories with your figures, turn your couch into a spaceship or a pirate ship.  Not all learning has to be done sitting down at a table.

Stay safe, have fun and we will see you soon.

Miss Hennessey, Mrs Quantick, Miss Jones and Mrs Edgar

To support national and local charities during this uncertain time, Gwladys Street Primary School has made donations to both Great Ormond Street and Alder Hey Children's Hospital. Pie Corbett has published brand new educational booklets and as a result of our donations, given the school permission to use the following resource. There are a wealth of activities included for children to be creative with and explore a number of different topics. We hope you enjoy using them, and don't forget to upload your hard work to Twitter via your class pages.
