On Thursday 1st November, we carried out a hot seating activity to find out information about characters from the story, 'The Hobbit.' The children enjoyed formulating open ended questions and working with their partner to come up with ideas as to how Bilbo Baggins and Gandulf might respond to them. After we practiced hot-seating our partners, we then did a whole class hot-seating event, with two pupils chosen to be the characters. There was some great discussion on the character's feelings and why they may have acted in a certain way, especially with Bilbo and his reasons for stealing from the trolls!
