We recognise the importance of outdoor learning and provide the children with lots of opportunities to engage with new and exciting activities outside.  This gives the children the opportunity to run around, engaging in physical exercise, as well as developing their gross motor skills.  It is important for children to have the opportunity to make large movements with their arms and legs, and therefore develop their gross motor skills, before they can develop the smaller muscles in their hands which are essential for writing and pencil control.
