Gwladys Street Community Primary and Nursery School is committed to providing an inclusive education, whereby teaching and learning, achievements, attitudes and well-being of every young person matter. Our main aim is for every pupil and their family to feel welcome upon arrival with an effective induction procedures.

For pupils who have English as an additional language (EAL), we ensure that use a variety of strategies and resources to in classroom and teach in small intervention groups. An EAL Assistant works alongside classroom teachers to provide an effective plan to teach, tailored targets and strategies to and meet each child’s needs so he/she will be able to progress under the National Curriculum guidelines.

In addition, we use the NASSEA assessment form to track progress and plan next steps.


Events and Calendar

Throughout the year, the EAL assistant will provide a range of events to support families in school. Keep an eye out on the Parent App and Website.
