Welcome to Class 5J’s Webpage
Well, it's been a fabulous start to our first term in Year 5. We've learnt so much in such a short space of time and I'm proud of the progress we are making.
Make sure your P.E. kit is in school on a Wednesday's for our P.E. lessons. We have been extremely lucky enough this academic year to have support for Liverpool Football club for P.E., teaching us many skills to be successful in sports and to keep ourselves fit and healthy.
Homework is handed out on Friday and is to be brought back to school by Thursday. We try to ensure it is marked to be handed back to the children so that they can see how they have done. Each week, the homework will consist of English and Maths, as well as Spelling, Punctuation or Grammar.
If your child cannot do the homework, just write a note and it will be looked at in class. Homework should not cause any distress at home.
For reading, children should read at least 5 times a week. Children should try to read a range of texts and record their reading in their journals. Reading books should come to school daily.
Gwladys wants us to achieve!
Attendance and Punctuality is always important, but in year 5, missing a couple of lessons can be hard to catch up on. Lessons start promptly and activities are ready for the children from 8.50 am to warm up our brains. Please ensure you attend every day and if you have any issues speak to Miss Krogh our Attendance Officer. We enjoy celebrating good attendance as a class, so remember, 'Every Second, of Every Day Counts'.
