This Term for IPC in Year One we are looking at the topic 'Things People Do' For our entry point we came dressed up as what we would like to be when we are older. We had lots of Doctors, Nurses, Astronauts and Police Officers. Throughout this term we will be having lots of visitors to tell us about what their jobs entail and we will be generating lots of questions to ask them.
In Maths we will be looking at Multiplication, Division and Fractions. We will be learning how to double and half and be learning different formulas to solve calculations.
In English we will be looking at stories from other cultures. The stories we are looking at are set in Africa and at the end of the unit the children will be writing their own story based around these stories.
In Science this term, we are looking at Animals. We will be learning about the names of animals and what they eat. We will also be looking at variety of animals including fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals.
