On Monday 25th June, LFC visited our school. Our children took part in a Super Movers assembly. Here, the children discovered the importance of keeping active daily. The aim of Super Movers is to encourage children to become active to enhance their learning and development. The children joined in an active assembly and shared their own individual super moves! Through the Premier League Primary Stars Program, The LFC Foundation has been working closely with Gwladys street Primary School for the last 6 months. The PLPS program aims to work with primary schools to inspire and develop young people in all areas of their life, not just sport.

During this time in school, we have worked with a variety of young people on a number of different programs. These include our Literacy programme (Premier League Primary Stars) where we have worked with a year 5 group to improve reading and writing and hopefully increase enjoyment of reading. We have also delivered over 50 Hours of PE and after school activity with the school pupils.

Outside of school, Gwladys Street Primary have attended a number of LFC Foundation PSHE themed workshops including; Drug and Alcohol Awareness, Homophobia and Show Racism the Red Card.

We have also delivered a CPD course for the school teachers around quality PE delivery during an inset day.

The school is a great example of how to work alongside an external organisation and all LFC staff thoroughly enjoy going in each week. We also have a number of new initiatives planned in future that we are all really excited for.

New Liverpool Home Kit 2018

Some of our Gwladys Street School children were recently invited to attend LFC as part of the Red Neighbours Initiative.

Our children attended the unveiling of the new Liverpool home Kit. To celebrate the launch, some of our children were given a new kit and New Balance trainers as part of the event! The children also accessed the football pitch for a fabulous photograph to celebrate 125 year anniversary.

With special thanks to Forbes and colleagues for their ongoing support.
